Plenty of nerve-grating, ear-rattling lo-fi goodness from this rainy and weary collective. It's the kind of stuff that Virgin Black might get up to if it abandoned its orchestral pretensions and dove headlong into the darkness. Then again, maybe not. It's dark
and dreary, strong and blurry and perfect for carrying with you come mushroom picking time. Favorites this time out include "Blood Vaults," "Soil Of The Incestuous" and the title cut. Add to that "50 Forts Along The Rhine" and "Soliloquy Of The Stigmatized
Shepherd" and you get the picture that this is one record that's darn near difficult to find fault with. More of this please, leave dark poseurs at the dungeon door and get down to the business of burning the flame long into the blackest night.
