An all-instrumental collective that supposedly walks the line between rock and jazz but instead just walks the line between good and bad. The funk-inflected jams that arise over the course of this seven-song, 48-minute affair prove interesting enough––guitarist Eddie Arjun Peters knows his way around a chanka-chanka-chanka rhythm fill better than most––but they rarely add up to more than jams. In the band's heart of hearts perhaps it believes that it's creating compositions but in the inner ear of the listener it all sounds like one big throbbing gristle, a sound collage cobbled together by someone who listened to Band of Gypsies one too many times. Peters has got a good thing going on with that axe of his and the rhythm section of Emek Rave (bass) and Lamar Myers
(drums) is hard to beat in any other universe outside a songwriting contest.
