Standtall is Marc Gendron, a lad like you and me in his obsession with the likes of early Genesis (the band, not the book from the bible), Glass Hammer and (especially, per this recording) Gentle Giant. This offering suffers a bit from the usually quirks and quips of home recording––not quite high enough in fidelity, could use some editing in one or two spots and would benefit from more interplay twixt instruments––but it's a nice little artifact of a man and his vision. "Rolling," "Land Of Your Own" and "Sad In Roger's Way" are among the best here. Should Gendron trod forward and get a full-blown band, maybe even add some soaring, searing vocals to his next offering, he may be in for a grand old ride. If not, we'll watch the show just the same.
