Time Release: I Am Not the Emperor, My Name Is Bruce

With songs like "I Can't Go Commando All the Time; Mortars Are the Answer," "That's What I Used to Tell My English Teacher" and "I Was a Teenage Oxen Wheelwell," it's easy to wish that the music on Time Release's equally odd-titled I Am Not the Emperor; My Name Is Bruce came complete with lyrics. But this Georgia-based instrumental power trio doesn't need words; its hip array of Rush, Black Sabbath and Faith No More references speaks volumes. Flexible yet intense, this is music that'll make you wince, flinch and shake your groove thang. Somebody sign these guys quick, before they hurt themselves.
