This is probably one of the most bizarre CD's you are likely to have heard in some time. Trencher are a casio-grindcore trio from London...yes, you heard that right, a 'casio-grindcore trio'. What does that mean you ask? Well, these three dudes (L. Monger, M.Shit, and Pox) play a screaming, furious form of metal that has all the characteristics of crazed, manic grindcore mixed with some hardcore and doom, but in this case there are no guitars, just extremely fuzzed bass, crashing drums, and a warbling, video-game sounding casio keyboard. It's all rather noisy and somewhat ridiculous, yet despite that there some seriously heavy grooves here, even if the cheesey casio parts add a bizarre circus-like quality to it all. In the end you'll either be totally repulsed by such raging scream splatters like "Chatter of Slimy Teeth" and "Nightmares on Crack St.", or fall in love with the elecronic trance of "In Reverence". I'll give them one thing-Lips is definitely unique. Whether it's enjoyable or not will be up to you.
