Hailing from Providence, Rhode Island, this prog-cum-metal trio delivers a three-song blast that calls to mind a heavier, darker version of early Rush along with a dose of, say, Fates Warning but mostly dodges influence from Dream Theater. The results are fairly strong, though ambition occasionally overtakes true dynamics, such as in the opening cut "Live For The Moment," where the song's midriff gets buried in a confusing pile of not knowing exactly where to go next. (Guitarist Marcelo Menne's solo also gets
buried.) There, as on the more ambitious "I'm Falling Deep Down," vocalist Myke Havoc sounds restrained––dude clearly has pipes and power but holds too much back. (Then again, maybe it's just the mix.) "Entropy (Cannot Be Reversed)" manages to touch on nü metal without being too nü metal but it and its compatriots don't add up to much to get overly excited about. Perhaps a new engineer and a little more time in the writing room will do this band well.
