For The Fairest begins with enough promise as "Addvesary" (No, these cats aren't the strongest spellers) opens with some Maiden style riffing but the whole shebang quickly falls away amid pop music clichés ("Sifting" is more Fall Out Boy than Yes), a failure to fully commit (on more than half of the songs, the band can't seem to decide whether it wants to be pop or metal or to throw in progressive riffs). The often spotty production doesn't help matters either and the impression that one leaves with is that Turn To Fall is a talented bunch of lads who could, under the right circumstance, make it straight to the middle but are stuck on the bottom rung with no sense of true identity.
