Harry Has a Head Like a Ping Pong Ball: Post-Apocalyptic Time Travel Core

This little 25-minute EP from Texas' Harry Has a Head Like A Ping Pong Ball (Dustin Adams on drums, Travis Laminack on guitar, and Nathan Fenoglio on bass) features four instrumental tracks that fuse math rock, country twang, metal, prog, and blues. The trio are pretty adept on their instruments, and have come up with some catchy riffs & melodies here, like on the tasty grooves and Southern sass of "Walter Cronkite Goes Fishin' ", and the complex burner "Rootbeerrun". They show their metallic side on the crunchy "Skullhead", a real intricate & heavy piece featuring some nimble guitar & bass riffs, and the manic "Send in McGraw!" combines their punk and prog leaning into one hell of a crankin' piece, featuring an especially fired up Laminack and his ripping guitar work. If Post-Apocalyptic Time Travel Core is any indication of what we can expect from this outfit, then a future full-length should be something to look forward to indeed.
