The first ever DVD from metalcore favorites All That Remains is an enjoyable 2+ hours of live footage (two shows, one from Baltimore and other from Phildedelphia, both from the most recent tour), music videos, and candid interview & backstage material. This is one of those modern bands that seems to be steadily gaining in popularity, and after viewing this DVD it's not hard to see why. Live, these guys really hit the mark, delivering a mix of hardcore brutality and 80's metal virtuosity that works on all levels. The set from Baltimore's Recher Theatre is the lengthier of the two, and features 12 songs that span their entire three album career, including popular cuts like "This Calling", "Six", "Not Alone", "Focus Shall Not Fail", and "The Air That I Breathe". Long on flashy & tasty harmony guitar work, bombastic drum work, and Phil LaBonte's mix of screams, growls, and clean vocals, All That Remains tears through this near 60 minute concert and leaves the raging crowd breathless, sweaty, and pulverized. It's much the same for the Philly show, but unfortunately a good portion of the set has been edited out, but you do get tunes such as "Regret Not" and "We Stand" which are not included in the Baltimore concert. The bonus features here are a lot of fun, especially the Guitar Hero game competition between Mike Martin and Oli Herberg, the tour bus footage, and the entire ATR video collection.
Quite simply, Live is a DVD that no All That Remains fan should be without.
