Not to be confused with two other bands also hailing from Germany with the same name, there shouldn't be too much confusion as to what this Genocide is all about with such pleasing song titles as "Crucify (the scum)", "Spill The Blood Of Christ" and "Eternal Holycaust"(which is dedicated to all church burnings worldwide). This raw and unrelenting collection of eleven blasphemous, old school black metal songs entitled Apocalyptic Visions was put together in a grand total of just 3 days.
While Genocide don't exactly deviate that much from song to song as far as alternating tempos save for a few songs, they instead focus on delivering a relatively straight ahead onslaught consisting of a heavy serving of furious blast beats, super fast and sinister sounding guitar work, and a surprising amount of general detail to the bottom end as far as lower frequencies go. The harsh, abrasive vocals courtesy of Plague and Chaos deliver enough vitriol to please even the most critical black metal fanatic, and as a whole the steam rolling offensive of Apocalyptic Visions is akin to a convoy of Panzer tanks mowing down their targets at will in an open battlefield. For a band that has only been together for just over two years tracks like "Welt in Flammen (World in Flames)", "Command For Genocide", "Interitus Christianorum" and "Eternal Holycaust" shows not only a remarkable amount of maturity but also demonstrates that these guys are dedicated to their vision and thus are certainly capable of delivering on their promise of giving the listener a true dose of old school black metal and nothing else.
