Battelore play Epic Fantasy Metal that blends the impressive softer voice of Kaisa Jouhki with the dark growls/clean vocals of Tomi Mykkanen supported with a skillfull display of guitars and keyboards. The Last Alliance is their fifth album and shows they are quite capable of delivering some fine metal... the catch is so do many others. The quest for our dollars isn't easy as we have many similar sounding, exciting, and established bands to choose from.
The storyline of The Last Alliance is based around author J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth, and Battlelore have crafted an atmopsheric album containing catchy songs like "The Great Gathering" and "Green Dragon", slower powerful tracks like "Exile the Daystar" to the more rapid "Voice Of the Fallen". There is a variety of songs on The Last Alliance, with many lighter moments amongst the heaviness.
Give Battlelore's The Last Alliance a spin, from the outset with "Third Immortal" to final track "The Star of High Hope" they have produced a very good CD. Granted, you won't hear anything groundbreaking, but in saying that how many bands can claim to be totally unique?
