Italian Melodic/Gothic/Death metal band Tystnaden are back with follow up to their 2006 debut Sham of Perfection. In Our Eye is a very polished sounding release, launching into opener "Nevermore" with a bang, fusing keyboards, drums, bass and guitar, at a brisk pace. Main vocalist Laura de Luca's melodic/soaring vocals are the focal point on In Our Eye, she possesses a powerful and appealing voice. Vocalist/keyboard player Lorenzo Frascaroli backs Laura up with his darker growls, working nicely to complement each others styles. All other band members provide competent contributions, generating some enjoyable heavy music.
Songs like "Nevermore", "Born From A Wish" and "Sweet Thief" would be my favorites on In Our Eye. I would really have liked to score this higher but due to the fact that some of the other songs, although still being ok, just failed to really captivate or standout. Even though I wouldn't rate Tystnaden as one of the top bands in this genre they certainly have the ability in their lineup as demonstrated on the better songs to reach that level one day. I advise you to give this release a listen, you may well decide that Tystnaden's In Our Eye is a pleasing addition to your collection.
