Here's another Metal Mind Re-release, this time of Polish metal band Stos. Here we have their self titled 1990 debut, but this time including five bonus live cuts and three extra studio tracks. Stos were formed in 1981, and they play metal in a style reminiscent of the 80's, but please note the vocals are not in English, so I'm not sure about the wider appeal and the album does sound dated as expected.
It's hard to predict the replay value here- the music is ok without being invigorating, plus with the vocals as they are, if you can't speak their language who knows what they are singing about. There are many other albums, both new and reissues, that I'd recommend over this one sadly.
My questions is, was there really a need for this reissue? I'm not so sure. Maybe eighteen years ago there was demand, but Stos sounds like just another metal band, although I suppose they have their reasons or can see a demand from fans, who will probably dig this re-release from Metal Mind. Possibly a more recent release would show a different side to the band, but this is what we have to go on for now.
