Maybe they are not as sweet as the wine from the land of their birth, but I doubt that they would want to even be considered as such. With a brute force that hammers you like a hangover, Hollow Corp. might just be the most damaging French export since the Foreign Legion.
Unrelenting with their massive guitar attack, Hollow Corp. is a force to be reckoned with in the world of heavy metal. Sometimes grinding it out with a determined slash and burn attitude like on the opening song "Elevation" or the fiery "Sabbat", they are just as likely to give you a little sludge to digest as in the epic 12 minute "Peripherals". No matter what form they take, it is pure metal. As loud and brutal as you will ever want.
I like the fact that these guys do not sit on their laurels but instead are willing to cross all the metal boundaries with their music. While most of the time the snarling growl of Stephane Azam is amazingly good, he even shows a melodic vocal once in awhile like in the song "Thujon" which is a one of the best cuts on the album. The creative twist and turns of this one will definitely leave you wanting more.
This is an outstanding metal album. It has the diversity to keep you from hitting the skip button and a quality that will make it hard to keep from removing it from your player. Hollow Corp. is as heavy as they come and as good as it gets in this genre.
