Chapter 11: Aftermath is the title of Swedish Melodic Metal band Harmony's second album, with their debut Dreaming Awake released in 2003 it's been quite a while between CDs but the results were worth it. If you enjoy artists such as Yngwie Malmsteen or bands like Sonata Arctica you will find this very satisfying. Harmony's music is quite the mixture of Power, Melodic and some Progressive Metal, the end result being an album of consistent quality.
The highly capable voice of Harmony, Henrick Bath and company have served up a fine opener with "Prevail", then increasing the tempo with double kicks galore for "Aftermath". Lost Horizon/Heed fans will be pleased to hear the always impressive voice of Daniel Heiman, enlisted to handle the vocals on track seven, the uptempo "Inner Peace". The pace is dialed down for track nine "I Run", what can I say, it's a fantastic track that really captivated me, from the tranquil keyboards following into a powerful driving guitar groove. Closing track "End Of The Road" has a fine chorus and performance/solo from guitarist Markus Sigfridsson.
It will be interesting to see how long before we see the next Harmony release, given what's on Chapter 11: Aftermath-hopefully it's not too far into the future.
