Anthelion: Line X

If ever you needed evidence (beyond Steve Vai and Joe Satriani) that Italians are the Chosen Ones (sadly, my French/Swedish heritage excludes me from CO status, though if anyone has information on converting, let me know), Anthelion's Line X is a good place to begin.

Anthelion, like virtually any progressive metal band, have hints of Dream Theater (check out "Promise of Eden") in their sound with dashes of Fates Warning tossed in for good measure ("Dirty Right Men"). Along the way there are odd reminders of Van Halen and even Journey, though the sextet clearly have their own sound. This 4-track disc is a great introduction to a band I can't wait to hear more from.
