Exciter are a Canadian Thrash/Speed metal band who's origins trace back all the way to 1978, going through multiple line-up changes since, but managing to fight on and not folding. Their debut Heavy Metal Maniac was released in 1983; Thrash Speed Burn is their tenth album, the last release was 2000's Blood Of Tyrants. The current lineup features Kenny Winter on vocals, John Ricci on guitar, Robert Cohen on bass and drummer Richard Charron.
Thrash Speed Burn is a very raw sounding metal release; this isn't the present day glossy thrash album we typically get exposed to, with pristine sounding execution all round that many new metal fans are used to. This rawness works in its favor to an extent, suiting Exciter's style of music and creating an authentic feel. Screaming vocals and guitars, gang chants and rampant drumming, it's all here on the aptly titled Thrash Speed Burn.
