A new voice in the world of metal has spoken up in Birmingham England. With the release of Through Anothers Eyes, Adust has firmly established themselves as one of the up and coming bands. This EP shows the diversity of a band well beyond the years that these boys have behind them.
Taken as a whole, this album touches on elements of death metal, thrash, symphonic metal and all parts in between. They can be both melodic and brutal with one style just a heartbeat away from the other. Like on the magnificent song "Prinzessin" where a very melodic guitar intro lulls you in before the death metal growl and blazing electric assault begins. Then before you know it they smooth it out and the clean vocals take over as the song once again becomes a melodious metal opus.
While there are many talented groups, it is still a pleasure when you find one that can inspire awe with their music. Adust is such a group. Lead singer Rob Pease who can take it from a harsh death metal growl to a terrific clean voice, has a very unique way of phrasing that will captivate you. Guitarists Dave Cox and Guy Jones have a way of grabbing you with either a well timed solo or a harsh thrashing depending on what is called for at the moment.
Though there is no weak spot on this album, the song "Forevermore" is one that demands additional attention. This magnificent work is five minutes of the most powerful music you will find. Adust shows off their ability to stand out from the rest of the pack with this terrific album closer. Dark and brooding with its death metal overtones, there is thrown in some spectacular orchestration that punctuates their message. And to think, this is only their first EP! I cannot wait to see what these boys will bring in the future. This is the kind of album that tells me metal is still in good hands for at least the next generation to come!
