This release came in as a surprise, since the music contained on this album is quite a departure from what I was used to hear from ATMF. That really doesn't mean it is bad though, quite the contrary. ATMF is a great place to go when in need of depressive / Doom Black metal.
Tronus Abyss is a band I never heard of before, besides being a very different breed of cat. On Vuoto Spazio Trionfo, the boys are using an abundance of electronics / keyboards in their sound structure. They don't go for a techno /disco style, thanks Satan! Tronus Abyss is more an Avant-gardist type of act, with a somber and somewhat doom-ish touch, served as an extra delicacy for our adventurous ears. Their music is keeping your mind at work all along the cinematic, experimental and crafty compositions. On the other hand, those Italians managed to remain melodic while writing this sort of music. They write lyrics in their native tongue, but often use special effects, creating thus some futuristic , robotic or even ghostly results. Surprisingly (again), one could hear acoustic electric guitars (love the sound of that instrument) on a few occasions, and a bit of piano too. While re-reading my notes, I kept finding additional information and details such as: dramatic, industrial sounds, spacey electronics, horn, accordion, mystical, psychedelic and so on.
Hard to summarize what Vuoto Spazio Trionfo stands for so let's just say: great and tasty avant-gardist release.
