Don't let the ultra-scary cover fool you. These guys
are okay. Not necessarily the thing I'd put on after a
hard day at the office, but a fantastic way to get in
touch with your inner beast. The excellent guitar duo
of Tchort and Dod make the record most listenable as
Tchort's rhythm tracks are of the thick-as-earth's-crust variety, while Dod's solos are darkly illuminated, rising through the mix like flames after a good bombing campaign.
Also refreshing are Espen "Beist" Antonsen's drums,
which are some of the best within the genre as he hits
on one or two moves that I don't believe I've heard
tried heretofore in the dark realms of this type of
metal.
Let's hear more from Blood Red Throne, I have a
feeling these guys will do some interesting things in
the future.
