Christ Inversion, sounds pretty much up my alley! Even if I'm not a Satanist as such (besides when come times to get rid of those pimpled faces/ possessed Mormon teenagers), I always enjoy blasphemy in Black Metal.
This release is filled with blasphemous words and ideas, all of which presented in a somewhat theatrical and / or ceremonial fashion. The production is a bit raw, but this rawness is not overdone at all. Christ Inversion has variation and enough harmonies to be considered as melodic. Melodic it is on one hand, Satanically sick on the other though. You would not expect to hear keyboards and electronics in this type of music, but they actually fit quite well. Those keyboard patterns add a great deal of atmosphere and darkness into the scene. Combined with power riffs, distorted arpeggios, varied paces and vocals, plus those beastie Satanic tones to create a pretty interesting listen. Sometimes the vocals are reminiscent to Akercocke, although the usual vocals are more on the screaming side, a bit of a turn off for me.
Overall, a pretty cool and entertaining CD with some darkly sick compositions, including: "Prudent to the Thrones of God", "Lucifer Rise", "Chimes of Deafening Misery", and the mighty "Godfall".
