Brazilian metal band Dynahead's full length debut is titled Antigen, and the band sure as hell aren't some flash in the pan, showing convincing execution, with this their first album.
Residing at the heavier end of the heavy metal scale, their music has a technical progressive feel with odd time signatures united with a heady dose of metal. The focal point of Dynahead's music is the stirring guitar work, with a diverse variety of potency levels, including numerous bursts of heavy riffs, whilst the bass playing and drumming does a great job providing the footings and driving the album forward.
"Clockwork I" commences with a flurry of drum fills and potent kicks, along with crunching guitars, Caio Duarte displays his strong vocal range, starting out calm before sounding like someone incensed, voicing his anger. "Layers of Days" is grooving modern sounding heavy punisher, "Virtual Twin" has some cool instrumental passages, and "Do You Feel Cleansed?" is a speedster sure to create many a mosh pit. On "Vorsicht!", a catchy riff sets this one off, the guitar playing shines again all over this one. "The Starry Messenger" is a varied track in tempo and heaviness departments, Dynahead showing again they aren't afraid to mix it up and hence ending the album strongly.
This talented five piece band has an impressive album on their hands with Antigen for the admirers of heavier semi technical music. Dynahead's CD should appease your requirements, and give your sound system a good workout.
