No More Sins is the hugely promising debut album from this female fronted American / Greek blues rockers who are based out of Athens and have recently made their live debut in the UK ahead of more dates supporting Dan Reed in the very near future. Vocalist Fofi was born and raised in Iowa before returning to her parents native country eight years ago and starting out in a blues covers band playing the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joplin and Hendrix. Her voice makes an immediate impression on the solid grooves of "Lightnin' Crashing", the song further bolstered by some fiery riffs from guitarist George. There is plenty going on here and the soulful "Believe" offers a nice contrast and sets the scene for an album that is full of twists and turns and showcases a variety of influences and styles and 4Bitten are evidently a band who are not afraid to mix things up and not be pigeonholed into any particular genre.
In an era where singles still mattered then "Tell Me" with its infectious hooks would prove the ideal choice. "Rock n Roll Dream" is a slight misstep, a generic old school rocker with lyrical clichés in abundance but they get back on the right track with the smooth ballad "Waiting So Long" and elsewhere the insistent, upbeat, funk-rock rhythms of "Up To You" and "Follow" have the self assured swagger of a band of veterans. Definitely worthy of further investigation, No More Sins is due for release via Rocksector Records on April 20th.
