Aaen Anima is a Czech band founded in 2002, and with each release they have aimed to craft new forms of music, from progressive doom and brutal sub folk/jazz fusion through avantgarde with clarinet, electronica with mandolin to raw black-thrash-death-core and so on. The music of Aaen Anima can be sourced from their website for free.
Aaen Anima 2 is another of the rather unusual CDs which I have been tasked to review recently. Two discs here with three "avant-garde/progressive" mostly instrumental tracks, there are no drums present, mainly guitar, violin and some vocals.
This is a rather long EP or you could say Epic EP, disc one contains one track, running close to a lengthy thirteen minutes, the remaining two tracks on the second disc are also of quite considerable duration. The spectrum of the music ranges from a mild classical style to intensive metal guitar, the use of some hauntingly eerie screams and effects, complemented with the violin. This style of what you could call experimental music isn't something I would seek out, but hey, check it out if you are one of the many that do, just click on their site link below.
