GraVil: Age of Corruption EP
Second EP from this eclectic Anglo Scandinavian duo who consist of vocalist Gra and multi-instrumentalist Vil and who made inroads into the metal underground scene with the release of their debut EP Something Worth Chasing last year. Age of Corruption picks up where its predecessor left off and sets things up nicely for the release of their debut album which is currently at the recording stage and will hopefully see the light of day before the year is out. Death Metal that is both melodic and accessible GraVil have already drawn favourable comparisons with Cradle of Filth, Meshuggah and Pantera but they have a unique approach that could well see them carve out their own niche as they progress. Colossal riffs compete for your attention with pummelling rhythms and a ferocious vocal delivery that is rounded out by sustained melodic passages. Pick of the five tracks is the epic intensity of 'Heviosity (Will Ensue)' that packs a real punch with a huge chorus and some brutal technical riffing.
The packaging is rounded out by some excellent dark and twisted comic book artwork that will make an ideal transition into merchandise. This is a new band that are well worth seeking out.
