Here's a rather odd one from author W. Fraser Sandercombe, a guide book that looks at nothing but other books that have been written about The Beatles. Not a lot of text, just listing upon listing of books on the Fab Four that have been written from the early 1960's all the way up to the present day. You can make your way through the book year-by-year, or by author, by title, or by band member, whichever way is easiest for you. In that aspect, if you are a fanatic about The Beatles, and a regular consumer of anything that shows up in print about the band, this will be an indispensible little paperback that will help you scope out all that has ever been written about this legendary group. For the casual fan however, there's little of interest here-again, this is a book-by-book listing, and little is said about the majority of the books here, save for a few that the author obviously wants to highlight or recommend. What would have been nice is to have some reviews of some of the stronger listings, but that in itself would have made this a huge project. Instead, Sandercombie has assembled the list of texts for the reader to then go seek out and make their own decisions.
In summary, Beatles completists will NEED to have this, all others will probably have little use for it.
