Dead Man's Hand is mixing Thrash with some Death metal ingredients, the consequential music is certainly brutal, and on listening to their new CD they don't hold back. Dag Carlsen is one fuming mad vocalist, along with Martin Kandola and Jon Carlsen on guitars dishing out some cool riffage on numbers like "The Last Stand", Stig Saetevik on bass and Jostein Kohn smashing away on the drums. Dead Man's Hand are sure to pummel the listener with their crushing music.
A band from Oslo Norway, The Combination is the title of their very heavy CD, yes it's Thrash metal music but it's certainly of the intense kind. It's not just a matter of dark angry vocals and aggressive music; take a glance at such song titles as "Body in the Barrel", "Bloodstained Hands", and "Guillotine", where it's quickly evident that aggression is also presented in their lyrics. Testament are one thrash band who know how to drop in those fantastic catchy and memorable banging sections, track four "The last stand" is a good example of some cool catchy grooves that might remind you of the Bay Area titans.
Dead Man's Hand aren't all about taking that thrash speed to a continuous brisk limit, as the pace does fluctuate a bit on this album. The Combination from Dead Man's Hand is a hefty album bursting with anger and vigorous performances, sure to be of interest to fans of the genre.
