One Master: The Quiet Eye of Eternity
One Master is a mystical and somber four piece Black Metal act. Two axe players are involved in this project, including band leader-vocalist Valder. I'm not familiar with those guys, and no real info sheet was provided, but I know this is their latest release, meaning they had previous albums.
Now, this is dark music with obscure lyrics of some mystical significance, as one can perceived on their black and grey cover art. The sound production is a bit raw and the highly distorted guitars are burying most of the other instruments, which appear deeper in the underground, so to speak. One can decipher some melodic distorted arpeggios as well as tremolo picking too. The raspy vocals appeared like screeching a first, but then become more appropriately discrete and slightly ghostly. We have the usual fast paces and some more tempered ones, much to my liking. As a matter of fact, the second half of this disc, "The Wanderer" and "Field of Ruins" are where the tempo is moderate. You'll have figured out that those are my favorite compositions.
If you like rawer, distortion galore, Black Metal with an esote4ic philosophy, then The Quiet Eye of Eternity is the right album for you.
