Writing reviews can be frustrating at times. Take this CD for example from progressive band Eyes On Infinity and their debut Frail'ty, an "8 song suite relaying ideas on human weakness, love and loss". With Eyes On Infinity I can hear a band with the potential in their songs to release something special, but they just don't click yet for me, like the vocals, both Sara Lauren and Vincent Livoisi who is also their drummer can sing well in various ranges, but that's not the problem. With some exceptions their vocals works better individually than combined, but this is not helped by the raw sound of this release, it doesn't do the band justice and there is the main problem.
As much as I tried I found it hard to enjoy listening to the songs on Frail'ty, with the sound being the main culprit. Given the claim made on the accompanying information with this CD "Frail'ty has captured the spirit of classic prog-metal bands like Fates Warning, Dream Theater, tool and Pain of Salvation", I was maybe expecting much more. Eyes Of Infinity possess the talent to be another good progressive band, and if they can release a CD that has a more suited sound, then I'm sure things could be turned around for the better.
