Rammstein's heavy industrial metal with repetitive super catchy riffs, topped with German vocals has been a recipe for success, plus they know how to put on a great live show. Studio album number six for Rammstein is titled Liebe Ist Für Alle Da, and first single "Pussy" certainly got some attention with its very explicit video clip. The song itself isn't Rammstein's best, and as for the lyrics which are sung in English:
"You've got a pussy
I have a dick ah
So, what's the problem
Let's do it quick
So take me now before it's too late
Life's too short so I can't wait
Take me now, oh, don't you see
I can't get laid in Germany"
Well, Rammstein aren't going to win any awards with this one, but that wouldn't be their intention, anyway it's probably best to skip this one if the kids are in earshot. I was cautious after hearing "Pussy" as to whether Liebe Ist Für Alle Da would merit purchasing, although after hearing the sample of "Rammlied" that soon changed. I did enjoy their guitarist Richard Z Kruspe's Emigrate release, but it's good to finally hear new Rammstein material, after all their last release was 2005's Rosenrot.
There are different versions of Liebe Ist Für Alle Da available, you have the choice of either single or dual CD editions, the bonus CD has five unreleased songs. These bonus tracks are quite good, like "Fuhre Mich", which is your typical Rammstein hard banger, and while a nice extra, the main CDs where it's at. But wait there's more, there is a double vinyl version, and keeping in line with the raunchy "Pussy" there's also another deluxe box edition, with adult content.
One thing that stands out on Liebe Ist Für Alle Da is drummer Christoph Schneider's playing, and while Rammstein's music doesn't require overly technical showmanship, he is mixing it up more so to speak with his feet. "Rammlied" is track one on Liebe Ist Für Alle Da, this mighty thumping tune is one of Rammstein's best in a while. "Waidmanns Heil" is a fun faster song, "Haifisch" changes the feel, the music while of course heavier for some strange reason reminds me of Pink's "Cuz I Can" of all things and "B********" should have been called balls as its got plenty.
If you want metal that's considerably heavy and very catchy but not too complicated, and with an instant appeal, then it's here for you on Liebe Ist Für Alle Da.
