They call it "death & roll". Whatever label you slap on it, these boys from Sweden have a unique style and sound that I am glad found its way onto my desk. This album that was original released in 2004 has been re-released by Metal Mind Productions and I would strongly suggest you find a copy before the limited edition of 2000 is sold out.
Combining all that metal heads hold dear, this band has a very catchy sound by mixing the death metal style vocals of Pierre Tornkvist with a heavy metal attitude that reminds me of someone like Motorhead. This makes for a most unusually but totally engrossing head bangers dream.
From the very start when they take you down their own version of the highway to hell, you will be glad to take a trip down "Route 666". The blazing intro to the album only lights the fire that the rest of the disc turns into a raging inferno. Scorching guitar work that mixes the best old school heavy metal with a newer thrashy sound is the fuel for this firestorm. It is truly the best of both worlds with the old and new schools of metal getting together for some really great music.
Some of my favorite tracks, "The Helltrain Coven", "Route 666" and "Helltrain" all have that touch of arena rock anthem like quality that gets you to cock that fist and start pumping it at maximum velocity. Simply put, this is a great addition to your collection and one that flew under the radar for too long. They are in your face metal with a twist.
