Black Metal Thrash five piece out of Philadelphia, Infernal Stronghold serve up 10 songs in around twenty seven minutes on Godless Noise, their second full length album to date. Song titles such as "Crashing Trucks Into Churches", "A Dog You Call God" and "Fuck Thou Shalt Culture" provide a good indication of what to expect here and this is not an album for the easily offended or one to spin if you are inviting the family round for a cosy evening at home.
Mayhem and destruction are par for the course and there is almost no respite from the buzzsaw intensity save for the mid-section breakdown of the title track where the ferocity levels out for an all too brief moment. A punk attitude and a likening for chaos, disorder and the anguished howls of despair are pretty much essential if you expect to listen to this more than once. Others may find that listening to nothing but white noise for half an hour is a more fulfilling experience.
