I first met these guys when they were on tour with In This Moment. I had never heard of them before but checked out their myspace knowing we would be seeing them. After seeing what they had to offer, I was looking forward to finding out just what these guys had to offer. What I found was a group that had a great stage presence and the music to back it up. Along the vein of a My Dying Bride with a mixture of clean and screamo vocals, Motionless In White is going to be making some noise in this business and hopefully the exposure they get from this tour will help to get the word out.
This six song EP has been one of the pleasant surprises of this year. With a very balanced attack between the metal crunch and the melodic, MIW will make believers of those that dare to give them a try. From the thrashing they give you with the opener "To Keep From Getting Burned" to the great harmonies and terrific melodic moments of "Ghost In The Mirror" these guys give you some scintillating metal with a difference provided by the timely use of keyboards throughout. My personal favorite "Billy In 4-C Never Saw It Coming" gives the keyboards the most dominance on any tune but still it is never the lead instrument.
Let me tell you, hunt this one down. If you get a chance to see them in concert, go do it. Pick up the EP there, it will be the best $5 you ever spent.
