Describing their music as Black Metal/Religious/Death Metal on their MySpace site I get the impression these Canadians are a little confused as to where they want to plunge their sword of metal and if they are really capable of setting a church alight. Staring off with 'Weapon' which gives a Slayer, Metallica feel before rushing headlong into full on grunting by numbers and the occasional vocal. From there on in it's a Black Metal tried and tested formula. 'Serpentine Ayat' broods along and you soon find yourself thinking it's the same track as the last. The Black Metal genre is already saturated with some top quality acts from the black country of Norway, however, with names like Vetis Monarch and The Disciple amongst its ranks I find it quite difficult to take them seriously especially when they claim they are ready to 'Bleed for Lucifer'. Don't get me wrong, when Black Metal is performed to a high standard it sure get's the loins going, I just feel that these guys need to tread a different path if they want to gain success. Without a doubt they are talented musicians and maybe the Thrash route is where they should be heading and directing some of their talent. If you like your metal black and your churches flaming head to Norway, but if you need to get a quick fix and like your metal a more charcoal in colour check these guys out.
