Ready for your monthly dose of darkness? Wehrwolfe
ain't a bad place to start. Featuring former members
of Darkmoon, they create here a slightly more melodic
version of death metal, a slightly more raucous
version of black metal, but something that is raw,
uncompromising and filled with the right kind of
gurgling riffs that'll get your spikes in the air. You
can understand most of the lyrics, especially when the
word, "War," which is cool. I'm partial to "Forged
Sufferance" and "Bloodstained Honor," though they do
perform (as promised) a crushing version of Coroner's
"Masked Jackal." (Who the hell has any Coroner albums
anymore? Anyone? I don't. These guys are seriously
cool for unleashing that on the unsuspecting of us.) A
welcome addition to the metal community.
You're also going to get a surprise when you buy this,
but what it is, I ain't telling.
