For feel-good symphonic prog with French lyrics, it's hard to go wrong with Les Temps Oubliés, the debut from Qantum featuring members of Ultime Atome and Lapsus Linguae. Following in the musical footsteps of Ange and old-school Genesis and Marillion, this quintet delivers no new musical ideas but conjures majestic sonic images highlighted by lively guitars and keyboards, warm and inviting atmospheres, and the slightly weary vocals of Jean-Marc Tesorio. Amidst all of this grandness comes the brief acoustic instrumental "Court Terme," which serenely segues into the album's final three tracks.
