Gore-grinders Haemorrhage are seeing their second CD Grume reissued by Relapse Records. Upon its initial release in 1997, Grume was sort of an extention of the initial works of the legendary Carcass, a wild mix of maniacal vocal growls, blinding blast beats, razor sharp & twisted guitar riffs, and gore soaked lyrics. Thirteen years later, and not much has changed-this is still one hell of a furious slice of grind that you are either gonna love or hate. While not as revolutionary as the mighty Carcass who inspired them, Haemorrhage do a fine job of pummeling your skull and smashing it to little bits here on Grume. From the bombastic bass riffs of "Cartilageous Pulped Offals" to the more down 'n' dirty death metal groove of "Fragments", this is one non-stop thrill ride that never lets up for one second. The abundance of 'groove' is actually what sets these Spaniard's apart from their grind brethren, which you can plainly hear in such furious pieces as "Rectovaginal Fistula" and " Formaldehyde".
Again, this won't be for everyone, but those who prefer the more manic & brutal end of the death & grind style of metal will surely be all over this reissue.
