The debut full-length CD from Italy's Nalvage, titled Worship Dehumanization, is a brutal mix of death & black metal, drawing influences from both the Florida & Scandinavian extreme metal scenes. At barely 30 minutes, this is more of an EP than anything else, and while you can tell that there's some talent to be had here, Worship Dehumanization unfortunately suffers from pretty poor production values. The drums and vocals (crazy blast beats and a mix of evil screams, grunts, & torturous growls) sound like they were recorded in a tunnel, which is a shame as the guitar riffs are actually quite enjoyable and perfectly crunchy. "Postmortem Dominion" is one of the highlights here, a raging beast of a track with an epic feel. Amidst all the non-stop pummeling, there's an actual tasty guitar solo on "Naked & Pathological Dehumanization", and closing number "Holy Blaspheme Sacrifice" is perhaps the best of the lot, somewhat of a cross between Morbid Angel, Behemoth, Gorgoroth, and Dying Fetus.
Overall, Worship Dehumanization shows some promise from this Italian horde, and with better production and some more content perhaps their next release will fare a little better.
