Horncrowned: Casus Belli Antichristianus
Casus Belli Antichriatianus is the latest album unleashed by those Columbians known as Horncrowned. Corpse paint, studs, black clothing and all is directly pointing towards an extreme metal genre: black metal.
This four piece act is not a folksy/Viking, symphonic or progressive type, but rather of the church burning category. You'll notice right away that those Columbians are not fooling around and spit their hateful metal in full blasphemy. This is pretty much the motive operandi on this album: relentless blast beats, tremolo pickings, hateful vocals and crunchy guitar work, with very little breathing room. The sound production is more than adequate, so you get all of their viciousness loud and clear. This band is not trying to be varied, so if you happen to check their songs on myspace or their website and don't like what you have heard, then you better check elsewhere. There are few and very short (couple seconds) calmer moments here and there, as well as some moderate parts. A bit of sampling can be found in the opening track, "Outbreak of War (Twilight of Fire) on track # 7, "Casus Belli Antichristianus (Pursuit to the Weaks)"and at the end of the closing track "Goat's Troops Conquer (Ad Infinitum)". #7 is my favorite tune, due to the wicked vocals, distorted arpeggios, besides being the crunchier composition. The samplings include: explosion a war sounds. They have included a bit of keyboards in a couple spots to increase the ambience.
Well, that's pretty much it folks, so if you're in need of hyper-blasting and well done viciousness, this is the disc you absolutely want to add to your collection.
