If I had to give an outline of In Your Honour then I would say, Aussie melodic power metal band Black Majesty return with purely more lively songs in the same traditional vein of as before. With more of those impressive vocals and energetic performances so there are no real surprises to be found. And yes you could say that In Your Honour is Black Majesty's best release yet, as I found this CD to be a more consistent release than some of their previous releases.
That being said I still can't get totally into this band, as much as I have tried with each album the memorable musical hooks just aren't prevalent enough, like on any top power metal release. I don't want to sound too negative though as there are positives with In Your Honour, several songs are very good and this is a band of impressive musicians. Still, even with my reservations I'd award In Your Honour a 3.5 due to the stronger power metal tracks like "Far Beyond", "Further Than Insane", "Follow" and the impressive bonus song "Two Hearts".
Black Majesty keeps on releasing solid metal albums but are yet to completely win me over, but who knows, maybe they will next time. Unless you were looking for a significant change in Black Majesty's repertoire this time around, then fans of their prior three albums will also enjoy In Your Honour, who knows maybe even more so, and no doubt some will disagree with my review. You be the judge.
