Vocalist's Michael Kiske and Amanda Somerville have teamed up to record an excellent melodic music release with a wide appeal. Michael Kiske is a name most metal fans would have heard before, but maybe not so Amanda Somerville. Well she is an experienced singer that has participated with prominent acts like Epica, Kamelot and Avantasia, plus Amanda also has her own band. I have always been partial to the vocals of Michael Kiske, being a fan since I first heard him back in the 80's with Helloween, so I was eager to hear this new project on which he still sounds fantastic.
Both Kiske and Somerville sound wonderful, and who ever came up with the idea that these two performers should sing together really got it right. There are no bad tracks here, each one serves well to showcase how good the two vocalists on this recording are. The music is also very well performed and while Kiske and Somerville are of course the focal points the accompying musicians really complete this very inviting package. Those musicians include Mat Sinner ( bass and backing vocals) and Magnus Karlsson ( guitar and keyboards), both current members of Primal Fear, and the two of them also wrote most of the songs for this album.
This is no collection of ballads, Kiske/ Somerville has many quality rocking/vibrant tunes and that's something well worth checking out isn't it?
