S.D.D: Slow Drowning

This rock and roll trio from Finland seems to be locked in a time warp with this 2 song EP. They are about 30 years too late with this garage/bar band form of blues based heavy metal. You might think that these guys had grown up in the deep south of the good old USA instead of northern Europe as these two examples sound like they might have come from any of the swamp rock units that were really popular back in the 70's.

Neither song on here is bad by any means but both are nothing that makes me want to run out and see these guys either. The first one "Atheist" with its acoustic interlude in the middle is the better of the two but still nothing special or out of the ordinary.

The second song "Hangman Blues" is just about what you would expect from a song with this title. Once again you have a decent tune but nothing that will put these guys on the map.

I can see these guys fueling an alcohol filled night of debauchery but they will never gain any real foothold in the world of metal if this is all they have to offer.

Track listing:

1. Atheist
