I was and still am not absolutely sure which is which. I thought at first Virion is the band name, but then came across a heavy metal site saying The Sequence of Prime is the band. I needed to dig deeper in the woods of this problem. I read about the man behind the band, Brandon Duncan. It has been explained that yes, The Sequence Of Prime is the band and Virion the album.
This album is widely available on almost every site where music is downloadable.
But what is Virion, first and foremost, the album is loaded with energy, heavy riffing, fast drumming, clear voices, shouting, screaming, howling, well you name it. The high energy in the album probably made it as short as it is. I listened to similar energetic music for another review just before this one and that was about 5 minutes longer.
Virion clocks in at just over 30 minutes, but then you can listen to a well crafted piece of grindcore and trash metal. Although this is not my kind of music, I would never buy an album straight before having listened to it first. I must admit the Virus got to me and it has turned me over.
I found this absolutely smashing, trashing, mind blowing, powerful and heavy energetic music all in one- I think it is a brilliant album. I was absolutely thrown over by the drums in "Icosahedron", which are a real highlight here.
