Blame Keiko/Purple Magic: Split

Blame Keiko is a one man band from Birmingham in the UK. The man behind the band is one Tom Garner, the music of Blame Keiko is very heavy, tormenting your innerlife. The psychedelic elements in the music make you wonder of or at least make sure you're having daydreams or hallucinations. Very intense guitar based music, even spiritual at times.

This is music many people like subconsciously, because it makes them wander off to faraway places and yet people will not let you know they do like it. Too noisy perhaps at times for some. These two tracks were completely instrumental, psychedelic in nature, and both great compositions.

The second half of this EP is of a different nature entirely.

Purple Magic, or Philoxera, is the other side of the rock scene, going straight into the psychedelic world but then more ambient like. As is Blame Keiko, Purple Magic consists of only one man hailing from France.

Both performers aim more or less for the same market with their down tempo music, psychedelic tunes. Both bring you in a different mindset all together. Not too complex music but mind bending, guitar oriented again. Three tracks on this split CD are from Purple Magic.

These guys make an effort of releasing their music, which is a great thing, even though they are lacking a record deal they still release their material independently. Well done, great play.
