As far as I could spot Get on Time is the debut EP of Polish Experimental/progressive instrumental rock band Brain Connect. The EP is like I just said completely instrumental, it consists of 5 songs with a combined length of just over 28 minutes.
Making an instrumental album is more difficult than songs with vocals. Why so? Well for one thing you will need to have real leading instruments in the song, most often this would mean an electric guitar or keyboards. In most cases indeed instrumental groups consist of four musicians, and Brain Connect are no different.
The five songs we are presented with here do not differ much from another. All are beautiful crafted melodic songs of Heavy Progressive Metal with tiny influences going to Jazz Fusion.
"Bullet" is a song in three parts, the first part is a soundscape mostly by keys and synths which leads us into the second part, where the theme is played in more depth. Guitars and drums are added, getting faster and heavier throughout, then comes along part three, as the tempo is slowing, things are brought into perspective stating we have arrived, almost tranquil at times, then heavy and running towards a furious ending.
"The Art of Flying" sounds like a real Steve Vai or Joe Satriani song, melodic and fast. And on the other hand, also experimenting with jazzy influences.
"Compression" is more of this Vai, Satriani styled music, melodic, heavy sometimes and very experimental.
All in all I would say Brain Connect are a melodic instrumental outfit, ready to play to the big world.
