Glory To Chaos is jam-packed with further intense metal from that exciting American band called Helstar, another long running metal group releasing wonderful new material in 2010 and showing no signs whatsoever of mellowing out. I truly enjoyed my time spent listening to their last CD when Helstar took us on a ride to The King Of Hell and those other memorable Helstar releases, like their earlier vampire inspired classic Nosferatu. When you have James Rivera who still is one of the best vocalists in metal and he doesn't hold back on this recording, along with an extremely effective line-up of musicians how can you go wrong? Of course the material must also be good and there are no problems on this new release, featuring another dose of the titanic songs of Helstar.
Over the years Helstar's style has changed and so Glory To Chaos isn't Nosferatu II, though the music still packs a wallop whether it's the fast or slower tracks and consists of speed/thrash metal elements. As you can tell from the song titles like "Bone Crusher", Helstar don't conceal their objective to unleash devastating songs.
The band start kicking heavy musical ass with "Angels Fall To Hell" and the infectious guitar playing they are known for returns, of which Glory To Chaos has ample. There's plenty of replay value here, like a terrific track that is so hard to refrain from repeating after each spin is the super catchy "Monarch Of Bloodshed", certain to get any metal fan pumped up as well as the volume. Besides the standard CD there is another worthwhile version of Glory To Chaos available which contains enjoyable Helstar covers of the songs "Heavy Metal Thunder" by Saxon and "Animal Magnetism" from The Scorpions.
Helstar have succeeded once more releasing another quality metal CD, and if you, like myself, found Annihilator's releases of late disappointing, well then just like 2008's The King Of Hell, Glory To Chaos is also a much better option. So if Glory To Chaos sounds like your kind of CD then don't hesitate do yourself a favor and give this band a try.
